British bookmaker Betfred has acquired a majority stake in South Africa’s Lottostar, the biggest online betting company in the country.
Lottostar offers fixed-odds numbers betting and live games on its online platform.
Quoted in Gaming for Africa, a Betfred press release said: “Lottostar has quickly developed itself as a leading brand, recognised nationally across South Africa after high-profile marketing campaigns and its continued efforts to uplift and rebuild communities through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.”
The partnership will add to Betfred’s existing presence in South Africa, where it operates 53 shops and an online business following its acquisition of Betting World and Sepels Sportsbet.
