In Australia, New South Wales Premier Barry O'Farrell says he has no intention to allow Crown's proposed hotel for Barangaroo in Sydney to ever become a full-blown casino.

"Star City has 1,500 poker machines. The VIP gaming facility at Barangaroo, should it proceed, will not have any," he said.

The state government has agreed to enter into negotiations with Crown CEO James Packer over his plans for a six-star hotel resort with VIP gaming facilities at Barangaroo on Sydney Harbour. The opposition says it will only support the deal if there is a legislated ban on poker machines.

O'Farrell says he has made that clear from day one. "It's a high value, high worth individual enterprise. It's not a full-blown casino. It'll be restricted," O'Farrell concluded.
