At the Annual Convention of the UK's largest gaming trade association, Colin Daniels, BACTA president, expressed concern at the current levels of uncertainty surrounding the gaming industry in the run up to full implementation of the Gambling Act in September, 2007.

He also called on the UK government and Gambling Commission to recognise that if they are to regulate, then it needs to be proportionate, practical and consistent.

Daniels warned that the next 10 months will shape UK gaming for many years to come and warned that if BACTA or the Department or the Gambling Commission make mistakes now then they could take a very long time to remedy.
