Simon Wykes, who previously held senior positions with Gala and Mecca Bingo, has been appointed to the board of directors of UK companies Leisure Electronics and Wexel Gaming in a non-executive capacity.
“The business is undergoing a period of rapid change since we added the fast growing Wexel Gaming digital business to our long established Leisure Electronics business,” said Sean Young, managing director.
“As the business is growing, we needed more support to assist in the setting of the strategic direction of the business. Simon’s knowledge of the sector and people, experience in digitalising gaming businesses and understanding of the challenges facing the retail sector make him the perfect appointment,” he added.
Leisure Electronics has been supplying the bingo and gaming industry since 1991. It specialises in the installation, refurbishment and maintenance of bingo clubs and adult gaming centres. Among its products is the linked Bingo Plus touchscreen game for bingo tournaments, which is available in 19ins or 13ins models. Low tech poker, slots and Rapido are also available.
