De Kat is set to leave the company on June 1, after over 11 years leading the company’s sales of major automated cash and ticket handling equipment such as the Scorpion, which has found its way into many casinos and arcades.

A dedicated money handling specialist, he had his own company in this field, Veka from 1979 until 1999, when it was acquired by Suzo of which he was joint managing director until 2004, when he joined Hess.

“My departure from Hess is most amicable,” he told InterGame. “The Gauselmann Group is a first-class company and I have the utmost respect for it, but the time had come for a change of scene and a new challenge. I expect to be able to make an announcement in a couple of weeks’ time when my plans have come to fruition.”
