Magellan Technology of Sydney, Australia, IGT have completed an agreement for IGT to license the use of Magellan's Phase Jitter Modulation technology in gaming applications worldwide.

The licence provides IGT exclusive use for gaming applications of Magellan’s technology and IP on a worldwide basis. Tim Frost, the chairman and CEO of Magellan, said: "Magellan is very pleased to have its technology exclusively licensed by IGT for gaming applications. As a company already active in tracking medical implants, diamonds and other valuable items, we welcome the new opportunities that IGT’s licence will bring to PJM technology and the gaming market worldwide."

IGT’s executive vice president, product strategy, Rich Schneider, said: "IGT’s exclusive licence to the PJM technology demonstrates our continued commitment to bring the latest technology to our customers. Magellan’s PJM product furthers the RFID technology that we use with our Table iD and Chip Inventory systems."

The demand for constant real-time authentication of gaming tokens and the constant need to improve the oversight and management of gaming operations has led to increased demand for the superior functionality of Magellan’s highly advanced PJM gaming products.

With the expansion of the gaming market in Asia and the ongoing development of new gaming applications globally, Magellan and IGT consider it timely to unite Magellan’s highly functional PJM technology with the global distribution and versatile systems of IGT.
