Melco Crown Entertainment's City of Dreams casino and entertainment project has installed the latest surveillance technology from German security company Dallmeier.

The casino at City of Dreams covers approximately 40,000sq.m, with a total of 550 gambling tables and more than 1,500 slot tables planned for the future. Less noticeable for customers is the sophisticated video security system, which not only provides the necessary overview of the casino but also in the adjacent hotels and leisure facilities. A total of 5,000 cameras were installed and are monitored and evaluated at over 50 security workstations.

Dallmeier supplied individual parts and completed the entire installation, ranging from cameras and recorders, to management and evaluation stations. The installation is also purely IP-based.

“We did some thorough research in advance,” explained Leroy Daniel, surveillance director at City of Dreams. “Dallmeier is the only manufacturer capable of realising a system of that size. Ease of use, flexibility and open interfaces for the connection of third-party systems were other decisive factors in support of our decision.”
