The Macau government collected US$907.3m in gaming taxes in January, according to data from the Financial Services Bureau.

The amount represents an increase of 7.7 per cent year-on-year, accounting for 80.6 per cent of total revenue from the government in the month.

In January, gross gaming revenue totalled $2.4bn, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

The month saw the sixth consecutive monthly increase in GGR, an increase of 3.1 per cent year-on-year, but the results fell short of those forecast - attributed in part to a slowdown ahead of Chinese New Year.
