Online gaming brand GR88.com has announced 23-year-old Canadian Justin Darling as the winner of the GR88 University Poker Championship.
Darling has won his tuition, as well as a trip to Los Angeles to party with Hope Dworaczyk, the 2010 Playboy Playmate of the Year, as well as a celebrity on the most recent Celebrity Apprentice.
“I would like to thank GR88 and their University Poker Championship for giving me this great opportunity to eliminate some of the financial burden of post-secondary education while playing the game I love,” he said.
In September 2010, GR88 announced an innovative way for students to pay for their education - playing poker for free. The GR88 University Poker Championship allowed students around the world to compete each week in free online poker tournaments. Each week the winner received a ticket to the final.
