Last Wednesday saw the Morongo Band of Mission Indians meet in Sacramento with California tribal leaders to rally support for online gambling to be legalised in the US state.
Twenty-one tribes signed to join the California Online Poker Association to claim exclusive rights to intrastate online poker, which is a pivotal move given that tribes were previously opposed to the legalisation of online gambling.
The Wright bill would allow up to three hub operators to have 20-year contracts to conduct online gambling in California.
