The Kansspelautoriteit, the Dutch gambling regulator, granted the operator a five-year licence earlier in November, but now more details have emerged on its plans for the region.

TonyBet, which has an office in Utrecht, is being assisted in its Netherlands launch by SoftLabs.

The operator said it is focused on football offers and various entertainment activities, such as the local football league.

Jesse Pas, country manager of TonyBet in the Netherlands, said moving into the jurisdiction was an “important objective.”

“Although the competition is very high, but still young in the Netherlands, we are sure that there is room for a strong local player with a distinctive approach,” he added.

“We want to accomplish this by not putting the focal point on the product, but also on what can our brand add to the total gambling experience, online and offline.”

Pas revealed that TonyBet is now building a team in the Netherlands ahead of its 2023 launch.

Victor Troitsin, CEO of TonyBet Group, said the company is focused on growth in Canada, Spain, Portgual, the UK and the Baltic states.
