The Colorado Lottery has extended its Lottery Systems contract with Scientific Games until October 2014.
The extension was granted following a comprehensive review by the Colorado Lottery of the current technological and marketing offerings of the three Lottery Systems providers.
Under the terms of the new extension, Scientific Games will provide additional revenue-enhancing products and services including its new proprietary instant ticket keyless validation technology featuring FailSafe and its Lottery InMotion digital in-store advertising system to 2,800 retail locations throughout the state.
"As a result of the strong partnership and collaborative efforts between Scientific Games and the Colorado Lottery, we have been able to increase our online sales through the development of three new games. With the expanded marketing opportunities, the Colorado Lottery can focus solely on its mission to raise additional revenue for the state. We look forward to continuing the strong partnership that has been built with Scientific Games," said Abel Tapia, director of the Colorado Lottery.
In 2010, the Colorado Lottery generated US$510.2m in retail sales, of which $173.1m were derived from online game sales. Online sales have increased by more than 24 per cent since Scientific Games began operations in 2005.
