888 has become the first non-US online gaming operator to gain approval for a Nevada licence and could commence operations in the Silver State within months.

888 Holdings is the first internet gambling company to be granted a licence in the US and is now set to resume activites there following the 2006 US ban on online gambling.
Brian Mattingley, chief executive of 888, said: “This is a historic moment for 888. This is the first time a company uniquely providing online gaming has been licensed by any US jurisdiction.”
Initially, any online operations are likely to be limited to Nevada.
