Illinois Senate President John Cullerton wants to create a division of online gaming within the state lottery, it has been reported.
In March, the US state was the first to sell lottery tickets online. Now, Cullerton wants Illinois to move quickly to establish itself as an international leader in online poker and other types of online gambling, according to a report from the Associated Press.
The new division would make Illinois the first state to enter the online gambling world. However Cullerton’s proposal is controversial with others urging caution and serious consideration.
