Lottomatica Group subsidiary GTECH Corporation has been named the apparent successful proposer by the Texas Lottery Commission for a new online/instant lottery systems lottery contract.

The proposed seven-year integrated services contract also includes four two-year extension options. GTECH, which has provided online lottery technology to the Texas Lottery since its inception in 1992, expects to finalise a contract with the lottery within the fourth quarter of 2010, subject to a protest period.

"As part of this award, we will be providing the lottery with a comprehensive technology and management solution," said GTECH president and CEO Jaymin Patel.

The Texas Lottery recorded more than US$3.7bn in total sales in its fiscal year 2010.
