New Jersey took another step toward launching online gambling last week, with plans to publish proposed regulations for internet wagering on June 3, 2013.

A draft of the regulations proposes that licensees pay an initial internet gaming permit fee of $400,000, and an annual fee of $250,000 toward resources for problem gambling.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement said publication of the regulations will be followed by a 60-day consultation period, ending on August 2, 2013.

Final adoption of the proposed regulation will follow a review and response to comments received. The eventual start date for online wagering will be announced at least 45 days prior to commencement, the DGE said.
