Raymond Bitar, the founder of Full Tilt Poker, has pleaded guilty to using player funds to finance the company in a so-called Ponzi scheme.

Bitar, who was arrested on his return to the US in July 2012, hope to avoid further jail time and was sentenced to time served - as well as being required to forfeit $40m.

Spared further incarceration, Bitar now plans to enter a heart transplant programme in May.
