Former Novomatic Netherlands managing director Paul Strikers has led a team to a successful bid for an igaming licence in the Netherlands.

Netherlands

As of Tuesday, iCasino b.v. has been granted a licence by the Dutch Gaming Authority, Kansspelautoriteit. It will now begin offering online casino facilities to the market within a very short period.

CEO Strikers, who has 30 years’ experience as a developer and operator in the land-based gaming market, as well as Eurocoin Interactive, the online division of Novomatic Netherlands, told iNTERGAMINGi: “This is a hugely exciting time for us, after years of hard work and dedication.

"We are now ready to provide an innovative and safe playing environment for players.”

Strikers left Novomatic in 2020, since when he started his activities in the legal online casino market in his country.

Although the granting of the licence is now confirmed, he said that there remains some preparations before iCasino can go live.

“We want to make sure that everything is in perfect order before we open our doors,” he said. “You only get one chance to make a first impression.”
