Casino Carrasco Montevideo

Carrasco Nobile, a consortium led by Grupo Codere, oversaw the rehabilitation and refurbishment of the classical building originally built by French architects Dunant and Mallet in 1912. The completed complex consists of a 116-room hotel, employing more than 170 people and operated by the French company Sofitel, along with 3,000sq.m of leisure and entertainment. The casino has 23 tables, 400 gaming machines and employs more than 280 people.

Martín Blaquier, chairman of the Carrasco Nobile consortium, said: "After several failed attempts to restore this building, Carrasco Nobile decided to respond to the call of the city of Montevideo to present a project consistent with history, a friendly environment and committed to service excellence.”

Grupo Codere chairman, Jose Antonio Martínez Sampedro, added: "The combination of classicism and modernity that this work represents is the result of a process of cooperation and respect between the company, the authorities and the community, which have become not only spectators, but the true stars.”
