The seven hopefuls for the six Macau licences that are now up for grabs, are not dissuaded by continuing limp returns.

The territory’s GGR in September was MOP2.96bn (US$370m), down a whopping 49.6 per cent compared with September of last year, reports the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau at the weekend.

Accumulated gross revenue stood at MOP31.8bn (US$3.99bn), down 53.1 per cent on 2021. 

The casinos were impacted by the pandemic restrictions that closed the borders with mainland China for long periods.
