Head of Sportsbook

Location: Malta, Germany or UK

We are looking to recruit a Head of Sportsbook for one of our customers, who are a large operator across a number of European markets.

The position could be based in one of a number of countries, either Germany, Malta or the UK & the package is genuinely negotiable for the right candidate.

This is a senior leadership role where you would have the ability and accountability to define the the future of the sportsbook and deliver the changes required to increase significant market share over the next 2 to 5 years.

The business is going through a major transformation phase and this would be a hugely exciting time to join them on the onward journey.

About the role

You will take full ownership of Sportsbook product strategy and work with multiple business units to deliver a market leading proposition. An expert in sports betting, you will quickly recognise opportunities for growth and development and have the management skills to effectively execute these. You will have a deep understanding of customer behaviour and motivations and can define and execute your strategy in a clear, structured way to significantly grow the business and take market share.

Accountabilities

Own the Sports product strategy and agreed KPIs. Manage the Sports product team to deliver these.

Liaise with the operational teams in each territory then define, prioritise and execute the development roadmap for each.

Work closely with technology partners and the trading team to drive a customer centric approach to development and delivery.

Act as the subject matter expert for Sports to drive development and set up of the new operating platform.

Work with the UX, marketing and content teams to shape the customer journey and advise on bonuses & event specific promotions.

Oversee commercial performance and report to the business on drivers of success. 

Contribute to wider strategy including product diversification, innovation and new market entry.

Experience

5 years+ experience in a senior management position within the betting and gaming industry is a must.

A confident leader and decision maker who is able to motivate others to be successful.

Possesses an in-depth knowledge of online sports betting within multiple regulated markets.

Structured, organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent stakeholder management.

Commercially aware and with a clear understanding of sportsbook KPIs. You will know which ‘levers’ to pull to optimise product performance.
