Scout Gaming expects to lose up to SEK1.5m (£120,000) during the first quarter of 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The impact of cancelled and postponed sporting events has impacted the B2B fantasy sports and pool betting provider, after the company had enjoyed a positive start to the year.
Total revenue for Q1 2020 is estimated to be in the range of SEK8.2 to SEK8.7m (Q1 2019: SEK3.5m), growth of between 134 and 149 per cent compared with corresponding quarter in 2019.
Scout Gaming CEO, Andreas Ternstrom said: “Even though it is impossible to foresee the future development of this ongoing pandemic, we currently only expect temporary negative impact on our business from the ongoing corona outbreak.
“Our best guess at the moment is that sports will be resuming successively during the summer. In order to maintain financial stability, we have adapted our cost base through overseeing and hence reducing mainly levels of marketing related costs, but also personnel costs as well as operating costs in general.”
