With one of the largest FEC industries in Europe, Turkey is now seeing a total lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The country is now one of the worst affected in the world from the virus and with the highest infection rate in Europe.

Easing restrictions in March has led to a spike in infections in the country and the government re-imposed restrictions at the beginning of this month, but it was not enough to arrest the spread of the disease.

Now only essential retail is open, schools closed and limits placed on public transport.

At the moment the lockdown will last until the end of the Eid festival, which would take the restrictions through to at least May 13.
