US theme park operator Six Flags has been voted number one in several categories of a survey conducted by the national newspaper USA Today.

Four weeks of online voting ended with nine of the group’s parks and roller coasters reaching the top 10 in the country.

Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles was voted the Best Amusement Park for the second time and Superman: The Ride coaster at Boston’s Six Flags New England came out top as Best Roller Coaster in the US.

Other Six Flags top 10 places in the coaster section went to Twisted Colossus at Magic Mountain, ranked at two, and Goliath and El Toro at Great America in Chicago, ranked at four and five, respectively.

In the Best Parks category, other Six Flags top 10 entries were Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, ranked at three, and Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, ranked at five.

In the Water Parks category, Six Flags was named third for White Water at Atlanta, Georgia and Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags Over Georgia, ranked tenth.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is the world’s largest regional theme park company, with US$1.4bn in revenues and 25 parks in the US, Mexico and Canada.
