Sega has released a downsized, more affordable version of its Daytona, simply known as Daytona Championship USA Standard.

Sega releases downsized Daytona

The most noticeable change is the removal of the dynamic marquee that was a 32ins monitor that showed animations and live footage captured by the cabinet camera of users as they drove. In its place is a Yellow Hornet car and LED edge lighting. LED lights also appear to enhance the speaker section on the control panel.

The seat has also changed, removing the 3D moulded chrome engine prop beneath the seat and using something of a more traditional Sega seat design. The monitor is a few inches smaller – 43ins instead of 47ins but each unit still includes the same four-speed shifter.

It also still offers the option to link up to eight of the units together at a time.
