With their colleagues in England set to reopen on May 17, Scottish arcade and family entertainment centre operators have less to cheer about.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has given no exact date for re-opening and has only illustrated April 26 as the start of a process of reopening businesses. A gradual levelling up of the whole country will follow, depending upon infection rates.

Operators expect to hear more detail early next month.

In Wales, representatives of trade association BACTA have made a case for the industry to be able to re-open alongside other non-essential business.
