The organisation has been pressing for relief for family entertainment centres from the tax burden that treats some categories of amusement machines in the same way as gambling machines for taxation purposes.

New proposed legislation for Belgium will include modifications from January 1, 2019 and the Flemish part of Belgium is likely to regard the amusement machines in categories C and D under Belgian law will be zero-rated for tax. To counter this, the tax on gaming machines, both bingo tables and AWPs, will increase from €3,570 per year to €4,000.

Details on how operators will pay the tax, probably completely online, are also being discussed.
