The combined AWP and amusements events were operated by the Italian Exhibition Group at the Rimini Expo Centre in collaboration with the trade association, SAPAR. It was the first in-person event in Italy for over 12 months.

At the inauguration ceremony the participants included the presidents of the Italian Exhibiton Group, Lorenzo Cagnoni and of SAPAR, Domenico Distante. The Rt Hon Rosanna Conte and of SAPAR< Ornella de Rosa, president of the International Gaming Observatory, were also there.

Domenico Distante commented on the current state of the Italian industry. He said: “Unfortunately, there are still many problems. In fact, we are still waiting the sector’s national reorganisation and have problems with the expiring licences.”

The two shows took up three times the space of last year, with two halls dedicated to gaming companies and the third for the amusement industry. The conference and training sessions were held separately in the venue’s Vision Arena.
