InterGame reported last April that plans for a new project for Great Wolf Resorts had been given the green light by Manteca City Council and now the build is set to commence later this year.

The 500-room family destination will be built on a 29-acre site in the city and is expected to be open by 2020. It will be the 19th site for the Chicago-based company.

Murray Hennessy, chief executive officer for Great Wolf Resorts commented: “The strong support from the local community and government, along with the overall family-friendly nature of Manteca, made this a perfect location for a Great Wolf Lodge. We’re looking forward to being a part of this community and contributing to its continued growth.”

The main attraction of the resort will be its 95,000sq.ft indoor water park, featuring a variety of body slides, tube slides, raft rides, activity pools and splash areas. But complementing this will be a 45,000sq.ft FEC known as the Great Wolf Adventure Park where guests will be able to climb on a multi-level ropes course, play a round of miniature golf, compete for prizes in the arcade, or step into the world of MagiQuest – Great Wolf Lodge’s live-action adventure game where players use interactive magic wands to battle goblins and dragons.
