The Australasian Gaming Expo closed today at the International Convention Centre on Sydney’s Darling Harbour. The show, one of the world’s biggest gaming events, has a small but growing number of amusement suppliers on its exhibition floor.

In a move InterGame reported earlier this week, Australian clubs are recognising the necessity to widen their entertainment offer – to families. The growth of the arcade games sector at the AGE show illustrates the amusement industry’s reaction to an upsurge in interest in its products.

Some of the companies are now offering ‘turnkey solutions’ for clubs, installing entire arcades or even family entertainment centres; larger clubs are even looking at major items such as tenpin bowling lanes, zip wires, softplay areas or climbing walls.

The amusement industry at the show included companies like Arcade Trader with crane machines, basketball games and novelties, Big Top with pinball and fun redemption machines, QubicaAMF with tenpin bowling and Zax, offering a whole range of the top international brands of amusement equipment.
