On Friday the state relaxed the rules that have prevented the theme park, other parks and outdoor entertainment from opening their doors to the public. Having been shut for nearly a year, the industry in California has been campaigning for reopening as other US states have gradually eased their lockdown.

From April 1, the outdoor entertainment industry can resume in California, with limited attendance. The easing applies to those counties where the infection rates have fallen from the state’s restrictive purple tier to red.

Initially, red tier counties will restrict capacity to 15 per cent, rising to 25 per cent when it reduces to the orange tier, then 35 per cent at yellow tier, plus 25 per cent indoor capacity.
