The legally-binding waiting period. necessary under US anti-trust regulations, has now passed and although the acquisition of Main Event from Australian owner Arden Leisure remains dependent upon other factors, including approval by Arden’s shareholders, the deal will still proceed.

Dave & Busters has revived from the pandemic well, reports North American financial services. Its shares have moved upwards by 0.4 per cent in the past six months, which is significantly better than other sectors of the entertainment industry that has seen an across-the-board fall of nearly 20 per cent.

Its latest accounts – for the fourth quarter of 2021 – showed revenues up 191.1 per cent year-on-year, to $223m.

Dave & Busters has sites in 41 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, while Main Event operates 50 FECs in 17 US states.
