The casino gaming industry is being viewed with increasing favour by the US public, according to new figures.

According to statistics released by the American Gaming Association, 49 per cent of US adults now have a favourable view of the industry, up from 45 per cent in 2018.

The survey results were announced at the opening of the G2E trade show, on October 15, in Las Vegas, at which InterGame's own team is in attendance. The positive view coincides with an increase in visits to land-based casinos up to 44 per cent in 2019, nine points up from the previous year. Around half of Americans said that they will visit a casino to play over the next 12 months; this is up from 41 per cent in 2018.

Forty-nine per cent said that casinos help the communities where they are located, and 57 per cent said that they help local economies while 71 per cent said that they create jobs. The gaming industry provides high-quality entertainment said 67 per cent and 63 per cent said that casino entertainment options are innovative.

The US market is surging with sports betting. Soon 43 states will have some form of casino gaming or sports betting. Revenue from the US casino industry reached a record $75.4bn last year.
