The developers behind Sioux Falls’ network of Deuces and Crown casinos are pushing for another gambling establishment on the southern edge of the South Dakota, US, city.

Plans for a casino and strip mall at the intersection of 85th Street and Louise Avenue received a thumbs-up from Sioux Falls planning officials despite precautions expressed by city hall and neighbouring residents.

The Sioux Falls Planning Commission unanimously approved a conditional-use permit for the casino after urban planning staff at the city recommended denying the project because it was not a suitable place to sell alcohol and because the City Council rejected a similar permit request in 2015 at the same intersection.
