Revenue at The Rank Group for the full year ended June 30 has shown no change of any significance, falling by a tiny percentage from £731.3m to £729.5m, with operating profit down slightly from £77m to £72.5m.

The statutory performance shows revenues up one per cent at £695.1m and group operating profit down 22 per cent at £27.6m. The group reported that there was strong growth in digital gaming at 23 per cent, including a contribution from YoBingo that  was acquired in May of last year.

John O’Reilly, CEO, commented: “We are pleased with the results given the challenges we faced in the first half of the year. The transformational programme is pivotal to our growth strategy in the UK and internationally.”

He added that there were 13 workstreams and 388 initiatives within the transformation programme that are now embedded in the business and driving improved ways of working.

Alex Thursby, a non-executive director of the company, will take the chair of the company after the AGM is held on October 17 this year.

He succeeds Ian Burke, who will not seek re-election at the AGM. Thursby joined the rank board in August of 2017 and has chaired the audit committee since October of that year. He will step down from the committee once he is installed as chairman.
