The state’s Gaming Control Board opened the process to applications yesterday. The initial round of auctions for licences will begin on Wednesday, January 10.

Additional auctions – all at the Harrisburg Public Hearing Room – will be held on January 24 and then fortnightly intervals up to May 16.

Ten licences are up for grabs at a minimum bid price of $7.5m for Category 4 slot machine licences and table games at $2.5m. The maximum number of machines will be set between 300 and 750 and maximum 30 table games in the first year of operation with the possibility of adding 10 more table games after that.
