The University of Las Vegas’ Centre for Gaming Research has published its latest set of statistics for the month of December.

The report measures all the major KPIs for the main gaming hotspots in the state and December 2017’s numbers indicated a flat month for Nevada gaming as a whole.

State-wide, casino win grew by 0.45 per cent. Slot revenue increased by 5.93 per cent, while slot handle grew at a slightly slower pace. Game and table win fell 6.88 per cent, mostly due to weaker baccarat results.

On the Las Vegas Strip, casino win declined by 3.25 per cent. Slot machine win increased by 6.07 per cent with handle increasing slightly and hold a bit more so. Game win fell 10.57 per cent. Baccarat win was the major culprit, as it declined by 29.91 per cent. Partially this was due to the hold percentage falling from 2016’s unusually high 15.84 per cent to a more standard 12.18 per cent, but handle fell as well.

Downtown Las Vegas had a positive month. Total win grew by 10.02 per cent, with an 11.34 per cent bump in slot win due to higher handle and hold and an 8.15 per cent growth in game win, which came despite a 5.36 per cent drop in hold percentage.

On the Boulder Strip which is seen as a guide to the locals market, total win fell 0.88 per cent. Paradoxically, slot handle grew by 3.39 per cent, but a drop in hold percentage led to slot win falling by 3.99 per cent. Game revenue grew by 14.05 per cent due to higher hold.

Washoe County had, by contrast, a uniformly excellent month, with total win up 8.06 per cent, slot win up 8.53 per cent, and game win up 6.21 per cent. Slot hold fell slightly, but all other indicators were up.
