The ICE Africa Digital Conference, the first pan-African gambling and betting digital summit organised by Clarion Gaming, the owner of ICE London, opens today.

The South African director of gambling law and policy, Nkoatse Mashamaite, will kick off proceedings with a keynote address on the future of gambling in his country. The conference will last for three days, beginning at 10.05am this morning South African time, which is 9.05am GMT.

First up following the initial address by Nkoatse Mashamaite will be senior consultant at H2 Gambling Capital Ed Birkin on African gaming this year and beyond. He will be followed by Christina Thakor-Rankin, principal consultant at 1710 Gaming, on responsible gaming and Olafedeke Akeju, partner at WYS Solicitors, on the rise in online betting.

Later there will be a session on practical measures for casinos from Stasi Baren, COO at nQube, and one on what to expect from the "new normal" by Lee Zama, CEO at Fedhasa.
