Genting is planning a casino on the island of Boracay with Philippine billionaire Andrew Tan.

The casino will be in the Savoy Hotel that Genting and Tan built in 2014, Asian Gaming Brief reported.

A casino at the hotel was set to open in the next four months, though that timeline is uncertain, Asia Gaming Brief quoted Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp Chair Andrea Domingo. This comes as Boracay could be closed to tourists for up to a year in order to clean up waste and address environmental concerns.

Tan is chairman of Alliance Global, with which Genting has its joint venture Travellers that operates Resorts World Manila and another planned resort in Manila’s Entertainment City. Galaxy Entertainment, who is partnering with Leisure Resorts World, is also planning a Boracay casino and could be licensed as early as this month.
