The third quarter of 2019 showed that gambling and betting in Spain represented the fifth largest volume of business with electronic commerce, says the country’s National Commission of Markets and Competition.

Travel agencies and tour operators (16.5 per cent), air transport (7.8 per cent), hotels and accommodation (6.6 per cent) and clothing (5.3 per cent) were all ahead of the gambling and betting sector with 3.6 per cent.

E-commerce generally throughout Spain was up 23.5 per cent during the quarter at €12.5bn.
