Churchill Downs, a racing, gaming and online entertainment company based in the US state of Kentucky, has formed an agreement with resort destination Golden Nugget Atlantic City to enter the New Jersey igaming and sports betting markets.

CDI, which is operated by entertainment firm Landry's, is targeting the first quarter of 2019 to begin accepting legal wagers for igaming and sports betting in New Jersey.

The move is subject to sports wagering legislation and gaming licence approvals.

“We are looking forward to offering integrated igaming and sports betting products in New Jersey,” said Bill Carstanjen, CEO of Churchill Downs. “We have the unique opportunity to leverage our knowledge and experience operating the largest legal online horse racing wagering business in the US as we enter the igaming and sports betting markets.”
