The UK’s betting shops are in decline, but GVC group’s online betting is running at double-digit growth levels, says the group’s CEO Ken Alexander.

Reporting on full-year profits potential, Alexander said that the betting shops are in "terminal decline" but it was offset by the online market.

“We are growing market share in all our major territories," said the GVC chief. The group owns the Ladbrokes and Coral betting shops. “It is all about digital and thankfully our digital business is going gangbusters.”

The profits for the full year are on schedule to hit somewhere between £750m and £755m. GVC also owns Bwin among other online big names.
