You would think, in my role as editor, I would be used to getting positive feedback for my work…after all, on a monthly basis I highlight industry issues, profile some of the major players in amusement and gaming, while reviewing new products and shows. A little thanks every now and then surely goes hand in hand with the job? If only that were the case…

Which is why, when I came into the office this morning, opened up my laptop and started ploughing my way through press releases (both related and non-industry related) and SPAM emails from my long lost uncles, cousins and friends of friends in Africa, I was suprised to stumble across an email from a customer that simply said in the subject line: “Simply WOW!”

Intrigued, I clicked open the email and there it was… a thank you note… for my “brilliant piece of journalism” in last month’s issue… I had to rub my eyes to check I was reading the email correctly and wasn’t just half asleep and in need of a large cup of tea! But no, to my surprise it was a genuine thank you note for my efforts the previous month. A little self-indulgent to then come on here and write about it I know, but then surely that’s what a blog is there for?

So, if there are any more of you out there who would like to praise me on my “brilliant journalism” rather than just letting me know each and every time I get the slightest, teeniest, thing wrong…feel free, it makes a refreshing change and did my ego the world of good!
