Manila plans large leisure complex
Manila, the capital of the Philippines, plans to construct a world-class entertainment centre, as he country seeks to keep pace with flourishing tourism in neighbouring countries.
The 108-hectare Bagong Nayong Pilipino-Entertainment City Manila, announced recently by PAGCOR, will be a fully integrated resort complex to be built in several phases along Manila Bay over the next decade.
Among the proposed attractions are six-star hotels, resort-class theme parks, educational and cultural complexes, a sports stadium, restaurants, convention facilities, state-of-the-art theatres, gaming zones, a residential village and a hospital.
A giant wheel dubbed the 'Manila Eye' has also been proposed.
