Kennywood sale approved
The century-old US park Kennywood and its associated properties are one step closer to being sold to Parques Reunidos of Spain.
The majority of the 76 current owners and descendants of F.W, Henninger and A.S. McSwigan, who acquired the park in 1906, voted overwhelmingly in favour of sale to the Madrid-based company.
With approval from the Federal Trade Commission now granted, the sale is expected to be completed by June 3.
Included in the sale are the other Kennywood facilities; Idlewild Park and SoakZone, Sandcastle Waterpark, Lake Compounce and Story Land.
