PartyGaming and PokerStars were among the second wave of licence approvals published by French regulator ARJEL on Friday last week.

PartyGaming received clearance to launch five French-facing sites, including PartyPoker and its PartyBets and Gamebookers sports betting brands. Also included was the LuckyJeux.fr domain, ostensibly for its poker partnership with PMU.

Global poker market leader PokerStars is now also licensed to offer its products in the French market on a legal basis, its Reel Malta subsidiary gaining accreditation from ARJEL.

Other poker brands among the second group of licence approvals included land-based French casino group Partouche, and also ChiliPoker, via its partnership with French telecoms and internet service provider Iliad.
