Online gaming software giant Playtech has reported a 75 per cent increase in second quarter revenues, as the company continues to grow its presence in both Europe and Asia.

The London-listed group, which did not disclose profits in its recently released key performance indicator, said revenues in the second quarter totalled US$42.4m, up from the $24.1m in the comparable period last year.

Commenting on the results, Playtech CEO Mor Weizer said: "This level of performance, particularly considering the impact of the Euro 2008 football tournament and traditional seasonality, is very impressive with licensees continuing to win relative market share."

Playtech has secured 10 new licence agreements so far in 2008, and the company continues to expand its product offering with the soft launch of its Asian P2P games during the first half of the year, with full roll out expected in the next quarter.
