The Rank Group has received an award in recognition of its support for problem gambling charity the GREaT Foundation at a special ceremony at London's Excel centre.

Over the past five years, Rank has donated £1.1m to GREaT and its forerunner, the Responsibility in Gambling Trust. Last year, the operator donated £0.3m alone.

"Britain’s gaming and betting companies lead the world in terms of standards of responsibility," said Rank chief executive Ian Burke. "It is important that we act as one industry to maximise all the positive things that we bring to society and that we minimise the negatives - and these awards serve as a powerful reminder of our responsibilities. I am very proud to accept this award on behalf of all my colleagues at Rank."
