Thousands of people have already registered to attend the EAG Expo taking place at London's ExCel exhibition centre from January 26-28, 2010.

The event’s organisers have revealed that with a month to go until the show doors open, 2,500 people have registered, 30 per cent of which are international visitors from countries including Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, US, Australia, Singapore, Pakistan, Korea and South Africa.

"Some organisers have a habit of quoting silly numbers and making ridiculous claims for the size of their databases and how many visitors they will have. We don’t need to do that," said Martin Burlin, chairman of the organising committee. "Given the state of the economy, it would be folly to encourage unrealistic expectations and then fail to deliver. We will take things steadily, focus on the people that matter and base our claims on the fact that we know the industry and know who and what is important.

"Times are still very hard but we are confident that EAG Expo will produce results. You don’t need enormous numbers to have a good show. You need the right visitors, to see the right equipment and buy it. We intend to be realistic, treating people in a professional, courteous manner and focus on delivering a great experience for everyone involved."
