A strong showing by UK companies for BACTA's new European Amusement and Gaming Expo, set for ExCel in London's new Docklands regeneration area next January, is now seeing the start of an influx by non-British companies.

The transfer of allegiance by strong names like Namco and Sega, Crown, Harry Levy, UDC and Electrocoin and an influx of other UK companies has resulted in the show becoming three-quarters full only five weeks into marketing. The floor area of halls 1 to 7 at ExCel offer 14,000sq.m of space gross, which can be expanded.

Latest to sign up for the show are Empire Games, the British AWP manufacturing company, and IDEA of the Netherlands, one of Europe’s strongest novelty capsule vending companies.

Belgian company, VdW, which is a major developer of pusher machines and novelty redemption games, has taken two stands through its UK distributor SB Machines. VdW’s Laurent van der Wege, told InterGame: "There are a number of undecided international exhibitors right now. They should understand that this new show is a global event, rather than a UK domestic show."
